DESCRIPTION:HerStory is a story-telling competition that invites women and women-identifying entrepreneurs to tell a panel of champions from various industries who they are\, how they came to their idea and why investing in them will bring innovation\, value and impact: both to their industry and to the future of more equitable access to Canadian capital. \nStudies have shown what women entrepreneurs and investors have known for decades: traditional pitch competitions consistently fail women. HerStory is quite literally flipping the script. By leading with narrative and encouraging a relatable\, honest and intuitively woman-centred approach to information\, connection and business building\, we’re challenging the traditional pitch model and spurring innovation. HerStory amplifies a diversity of voices and connects modern entrepreneurs with appropriate investors\, increasing the likelihood of women accessing pathways to success. \nThe submission deadline for the 2021 Banff HerStory Competition has been extended to Friday\, August 13\, 2021 at 11:59 PM Mountain Time. \nAPPLY NOW \nApplications for Inventures Startup Pitch are now closed. Here are a few that inspire us: \n\n\nThe Future is Femtech \n\n\nInnovating our Food Systems \n\n\nEverything Enterprise \n\n\nDirect to Consumer & Fintech \n\n\nHow will startups be selected?\nStartups will be selected from the pool of applicants with consideration given to each applicant’s creativity\, potential\, traction\, and team/people. \nFrom all those who apply\, a list of 30 entrepreneurs curated by Inventures and The51 will be selected to compete.
