SUMMARY:Founders & Funders
DESCRIPTION:Join Startup Edmonton\, TEC Edmonton\, BDC and Alberta Enterprise Corporation as they host Founders & Funders virtually on Remo during the 7th annual Edmonton Startup Week! \nBringing together active investors and tech founders at all stages\, Founders & Funders is a chance to connect with a growing community\, create connections\, and foster relationships before the ask for support is on the table. Often\, founders flounder when seeking capital because they put off developing relationships with potential investors thinking that their pitch or product isn’t perfect. The three teams will shed light into their founder-funder relationships\, as well as share firsthand how they secured the partnership and how they will work together for their next stage of growth: \n\nArden Tse of Accelerate Fund / Yaletown Partners and Ryan Tucker of G2V Optics\nPat Lor of Panache Ventures and Tim Regnier of Smart Access\nHa Nguyen of McRock Capital and Remi Schmaltz of Decisive Farming\n\nPanel discussions are moderated by Andrea Drager\, Principal at Azure Capital Partners. \nFounders & Funders is open to all investors and tech founders with products at all stages. Join in virtually for a lighthearted and informative panel + networking to learn more about the opportunities available in our region and how to best prepare to work together in the future. \nThis event is taking place during Edmonton Startup Week – see the full schedule of events at edmontonstartupweek.com \nDate & Time\n04:00pm Oct. 21st -06:00pm Oct. 21st 2020 (MDT) (In your local time)

REGISTER and you will receive a ZOOM call link as your ticket to attend. \n  \nOctober 6th Topic: Surviving and Thriving Post Covid-19 with Non-dilutive Government Funding \nOverview:Government funding programs are designed to accelerate the growth of a company in a number of ways\, from enhancement of technology development\, to supporting commercialization\, or helping a company go-to market both domestically and internationally. Some incentives are a response to world events such as COVID-19. Investors appreciate when companies leverage their investments by taking advantage of these programs. As we gear ourselves up for the fourth quarter of the year\, companies should strategize their finances by getting the most out of government funding programs. Join BDO Canada’s Government Incentives and Tax team as they walk you through the steps to accessing these programs. \nWe will be covering: \n1. Creating a proactive roadmap of various incentives available to meet your company’s needs \n2. Grant programs require planning and support – treat SR&ED the same way \n3. Updates on COVID-19 specific funding & Preparing for a CRA CEWS Audit \n4. Interaction of the SR&ED Program with other incentives \nQuestions: Contact us at info@valhallaprivatecap.com \nPlease note that we have a NO SOLICITATION policy on the calls. If you are an entrepreneur joining the call and want to pitch for investment\, please submit your application HERE
