Open discussion: Making a pitch deck to raise angel capital
January 8, 2019. 8:15 a.m. to 9:15 a.m.
Competing for capital can be a rough ride. You often get only one chance with an investor, so it is important your pitch deck hits the appropriate points.
This event is an interactive, informal group presentation given from the perspective of the angel group Valhalla Angels. It is meant to generate questions and conversations around the topic of the month and an opportunity to meet some fellow local entrepreneurs.
Grab your coffee and head to the TEC Innovation District to join Valhalla Angels Kristina and Ryan to learn more.

Kristina’s strong financial background includes a Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting from the University of Alberta and a Chartered Professional Accountant designation, in addition to having studied International Business at Sweden’s Uppsala Universitet. She is the president of K-GAR Consulting Inc., providing CFO and Business Advisory Services, as well as a founding mentor and Board of Advisors Member of the University of Alberta Venture Mentoring Services. Kristina is a member of the Chartered Professional Accountants of Alberta (CPA Alberta), the Women’s Executive Network (WXN), and the VA Angels. Ryan Heit is an Investment Coordinator, managing the investor network for TEC Valhalla Angels. Since joining TEC in 2013, Ryan has been a member of the Business Development team, screening companies for TEC VA Angels and organizing regular investor events. Prior to TEC, Ryan was co-founder of Pacylex Pharmaceuticals and Prairie Noodle Shop. Ryan holds an MBA, Technology Commercialization Specialization as well as an MSc, Experimental Oncology. According to Ryan, one fun fact about himself is that he is not fun. Not even when he is rock climbing, running a successful noodle restaurant, or building home arcade machines out of Raspberry Pi computer parts.
