In this one hour session you will discover opportunities in Healthcare and Construction “the Trades”.
Occupations in the Trades may be a pathway for people entering the workforce (from secondary and polytechnic or postsecondary) and people transitioning from other occupations.
- In construction it could be learning how to operate large “smart” equipment safely, or using 3D software to do project management and estimation;
- In healthcare it could be nurses and healthcare aides interacting with AI enabled mobile devices in patient or residents in continuing or home care.
In this 20 minute fireside chat you will learn from Employers on what types of skills needed now, and looking to the near future. And Educators will provide insights on types of courses available now and future outlook.
Speakers will touch on the “what if” scenarios: where technology may change or alter job activities:
- It could be enhancing more than technical skills.
- It may mean enhancing your written, verbal and oral communications skills in working with both people and devices (smart AI enabled).
- It may mean a lifetime of continuing learning and honing your knowledge to enable you to transition to different or specific industry sectors.
Following the Fireside Chat, questions from the audience will be welcome in the break out rooms where you can join in – observe and or interact ask questions and get answer!
