January 17, 2020 @ 8:00 am - January 19, 2020 @ 5:00 pm MST
25$About this Event
EdmontonWHO simulates the World Health Assembly of the World Health Organization (WHO), this year our conference topic is on “Climate Change and it’s Impact on Public Health”.
Our goal is to introduce students to the fundamental operations of the World Health Organization and create opportunities for all participants to play a proactive role in learning about global health and policy. The conference brings together students from a wide range of disciplines to discuss global health issues in a manner that is respectable and intended to develop a deeper understanding of health, sustainability, and progress. The Edmonton World Health Organization Simulation is an interactive three day mock United Nations conference for post-secondary and high school students to debate global health topics. Our aim is to simulate the political, social, cultural and economic realities that define the world of global health policy. In addition, we hope to expose students to potential future related interdisciplinary career options. We operate as a transnational project of the International Federation of Medical Students, through which we hope to send resolutions created during our conference to the actual WHO. Edmonton WHO is also a project under the nonprofit organization, Edmonton Simulation Conferences.
